Most of the worlds population has not had the chance to scuba dive and see the wonders that exist underwater.   Indonesia, Fiji, Palau, Papau New Guinea, and the Philippines boast underwater reefs that feature a cornucopia of color.

Hawaii, does not have a lot of color in comparison but the state has more endemic species of fish than anywhere else in the world.   Endemic means only found here.   The reason for this is that fish spawn and their eggs float on ocean currents until the fish are born.   Hawaii is thousands of miles away from other land masses and it is too far for most larvae  to travel. So many of the fish seen in Hawaii while snarling or diving can only be found in Hawaii.

Hawaii is a mecca for endangered green sea turtles and it is very common to see them while diving. These majestic sea denizens also make great underwater photography subjects.
