Rainy days and Mondays don’t have to get you down

Yesterday it was really stormy and wet, today the skies were dark and there was periodic rain.  This did not stop Evan, Claire, and I from going on the road to Hana and create landscape photographs.  We did get rained out of some of the places I would have otherwise gone, but this created the opportunity to go to Keanea and photograph the rocky coast.   I never get bored of this location as the rocky coast line is second to none in terms of stunning topography.  The weather, tide, wave action, and light are always changing and that makes it fun looking for new angles, points of view, and compositional techniques.

Since the clouds were low I decided to place them in the upper quadrant of my frame ( rules of thirds), and this adds a different perspective and a sense of drama to the photograph.  A somewhat slow shutter speed allowed the water to create a foamy effect that I find very artistic.
