Going on a Maui Photo Tour and Workshops enables participants to visit some of the island’s most beautiful locations and receive instruction on how to best photograph them. Each workshop is private and catered to the needs of the participants.
Improve your photography and composition skills while you tour the island. Master Photographer Douglas Hoffman will take you to beautiful locations and during the drive will talk about camera mechanics, techniques, and composition. This way you can listen with full attention and not have to concentrate on driving. Once on location you will walk around the location and talk about the scene in terms of the exposure, composition, and using filters. Then it’s time to set up and start creating photographs. Douglas is an instructor for Breakthrough Photography Filters, and Colorado Tripods. As appropriate and depending upon the equipment clients have, filters will be provided.
Douglas believes it’s important to give clients as much time and space as needed to be creative so he will standby and be available to answer questions or help move gear. In some situations he might even set up a camera and create images as well. That said every 10-15 minutes as appropriate Douglas will check in and offer to critique images, talk about different compositions or camera settings, offer suggestions, or help in whatever way is needed. Once the client is happy and content, the tour continues to another location. This repeated as many times as time allows.
This activity is appropriate for photographers of all levels. We will provide as much or as little instruction as needed. Our workshops are unhurried and intimate. We do private workshops and practice proper social distancing and cleanliness protocols. This service is billed at the rate of $180/hour. Select from 2,3, 4 and 8 hour workshops.
